Books By Mail

booksByMail_copyBooks by Mail provides books, DVDs, audiobooks on CD, video games and music CDs to homebound people of all ages. The service is free to residents of Hall County, GA who are unable to leave home because of a temporary or permanent disability. All you need is a Hall County Library Card in good standing.

Who is eligible?

Anyone with a physical disability who is unable to leave home, dependent on others for transportation, or unable to read conventionally printed material. Also, mothers with newborns, those temporarily convalescing after surgery or an accident, and Caregivers providing hospice or home health assistance.

How to get started?

Return the completed Books by Mail Application to Murrayville Branch Library, 4796 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30506

We loan materials for 4 weeks. Mailing time is included in the due date. Fines will not begin to accrue until three days after the due date.

When your registration is processed, you will receive your first books by mail. You will also receive a welcome letter to further explain the service, including information about how to contact the library, how to change information on your application, and how to select, return and renew your library materials.

Statement of Eligibility

I understand that I am responsible for any damage or loss of material. If the applicant is under the age of 18, a Parent or Guardian must also sign indicating willingness to accept responsibility. Also, I understand that to participate in the Books by Mail Program, I cannot use my library card at any other library. I agree to return or renew books by their due date. Format Preference

*Please Note: The library will try to accommodate all preferences (Book Authors/ Titles). We can request books from neighboring library systems (participating Pines Libraries). However, audio books, DVDs, music CDs can only be requested within the Hall County Library System. Our audio book, music CDs and DVD selection is limited if patrons utilize those in greater amounts over time rather than having a mixture of printed books, audio books, DVDs and CDs.
